Welcome to My Blog

My earliest memories with technology are sitting with my brothers as they showed me how to navigate early Windows operating systems and a command line. Later I'd spend hours on my father's lap watching him build web pages, and I never stopped wanting to understand how it all worked.
Those early experiences turned into a career. I started as a junior developer, learning the fundamentals the hard way: semantic HTML, CSS and the box model, JavaScript, preprocessors. The foundation that every web developer needs, and the foundation I still rely on when debugging something three abstraction layers deep.
One resource that shaped my early trajectory was Shay Howe's Learn to Code HTML & CSS. That site was a huge help in landing my first professional role in web development, and I've been building ever since.
From that starting point I've grown into engineering leadership, run a digital agency as CTO, and now lead DevOps at Viget. The tools have changed, the scale has grown, but the core of what I do hasn't: understanding systems, making them reliable, and helping teams build things that last.
This site is where I write about the things I'm working on. If you're here, I hope you find something useful.
